Orientation

ACG 108 offers a comprehensive overview of the many ways that computers are used in graphics and multimedia. It combines historical insights into the development of digital media, with simple hands-on projects that clarify each topic through practical applications.

This class satisfies Fullerton College general education graduation requirements (Area C.1) and is suitable for computer graphics majors as well as non-majors.

A list of topics covered, and additional details are in the syllabus, accessible after logging into the course. Failure to log in within the 1st week of classes, and to follow the directions in the syllabus, will result in the student being dropped as a no-show.

This is a full online class, and all activities will be carried out over the Internet. You won't be required to come on campus at any time during the course.

Online class participation

• Make sure you and your computer are ready for online instruction. See the Distance Learning FAQ.
• WebCT is the program that manages access to this course. To attend class online, you will need your WebCT password and login name.
  • Find out your WebCT password and login name by reading the FC Online Help Page.
  • Your WebCT password and login name are case sensitive: capitalization does matter. The system will see MyName and myNAME as different entries.
• Once you have your WebCT password and login name, and once you are registered, go to the Fullerton College WebCT server and login. Students will have access to WebCT classes on the first day of class.
• If you have any other technical questions, see the many resources available to you through the Fullerton College Distance Learning office.

  The book will be available for purchase at the Fullerton College bookstore.

• The textbook is essential for participating in the class. The knowledge of computer graphics that the course will transmit to you is in the book, not on the web. The class site will allow you to discuss, practice, and take tests on the topics we will cover--but the topics themselves you'll have to read in Digital media.
